LGG: Because there is one thing stronger than magic... sisterhood

The Lace, Grace and Gears® motorcycle rally for women was born of an idea to set a world record for the largest gathering of female motorcycle riders in one place. Attempts had been made in Europe and in Australia, where the biggest gathering of women was counted at 1,119. This was the genesis of Lace, Grace and Gears®.

Successful Lace, Grace and Gears® rallies were held in Texas in 2016, 2017 and 2018. Together the rallies raised nearly $40,000, which was donated to charities serving veterans and teenage girls. Lace, Grace and Gears® took a break in 2019 and 2020 and re-emerged in 2021 as a Shamwari Village for Women fundraising event. Rallies were held in Rogers, AR in 2021 and 2022 and in Fontana Dam, NC in 2023.

LGG 's name was changed to Shamwari Village for Women and LGG is now a major fundraising event for Shamwari.  Many riders are veterans or have family members who are active-duty veterans. Others have faced mental health challenges themselves and understand the physical and mental rollercoaster that women who will benefit from Shamwari face daily. As such, LGG's mission is twofold:

  1. To celebrate a unique sisterhood that spans all ages, economic circumstances, life experiences, careers, and riding preferences.

  2. To be a strong and successful fundraising event for Shamwari.

Shamwari Village for Women will be a safe and nurturing environment for homeless female veterans and women challenged with anxiety disorders that lead to addiction and will provide a holistic, individual treatment plan for these women and their children.
